One of my favorite things to do is go to the movie theater and experience a film for the very first time with a heaping bucket of buttery popcorn and a crisp Diet Coke. For shows, I love to curl up with a cozy blanket and some home-popped popcorn, surrounded by family and loved ones as we enjoy binge-watching the episodes together.
Here are, in no particular order, my 10 most anticipated projects of 2026:

Supergirl (June 26)
I saw Superman in theaters the week it came out and immediately fell in love with the comic-inspired style: the costumes, the color palette, the dialogue, everything. David Corenswet is a perfect Clark Kent, and even the brief glimpse we got of Milly Alcock as Supergirl was incredible. What really stuck with me was the renewed sense of hope the film gave me, both for humanity and for life in general. From the trailers, Supergirl seems to lean into a fun, slightly chaotic, Guardians of the Galaxy-style vibe, and I’m so excited to see how they develop both the character and the story.

Avengers: Doomsday (December 18)
It’s been such a long time since the last Avengers movie. While I’ve been diving more into the DC universe lately – especially the Batman and Robin side of things – I really miss Marvel and the special kind of magic those movies bring to the screen. Catching a glimpse of Cap in the trailer immediately grabbed my attention, and I’m curious to see how they bring him back into the story. Iron Man has been my favorite since day one, so it’ll definitely feel strange not having him there, but at least RDJ will still be gracing our screens as Doctor Doom.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (January 18)
I’ll admit I was about eight years late to Game of Thrones, but once I finally started watching, I was instantly hooked. Then came House of the Dragon, which I’d argue has actually become my favorite of the two so far. With the long wait for season three, I’m more than ready to take any crumbs we can get from this universe, so I’m all in for this new series!

Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 31)
Spider-Man is easily one of my top three favorite Marvel heroes, so I’ll take anything I can get. This feels like the perfect way to build even more hype leading into the next Avengers movie, and I’m especially excited (and a little nervous) to see how they try to mend my broken heart after making everyone forget Peter.

Scream 7 (February 27)
The Scream franchise won’t feel the same without Melissa Barrera leading the cast, and I’m still really upset with how Spyglass handled her political activism. Because of that, I’ll probably wait to watch this one when it hits streaming instead of paying for a theater ticket. That said, I’m still curious – and genuinely excited – to see where they take the franchise next, especially how the story continues with Sidney and her daughter. And of course, Matthew Lillard’s return has me hyped… Stu will always be my favorite!

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (November 20)
HAYYYY, HAYMITCH! I’ve waited so long to finally get Haymitch’s story from back when he was young and competing in his own Games, and the book absolutely delivered. I found myself far more invested in the characters and story line of Sunrise on the Reaping than I was in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, though I’ve enjoyed every entry in the Hunger Games universe. Joseph Zada is going to do incredible work as Haymitch, and I’m beyond thrilled that Mckenna Grace has joined the cast.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu (May 22)
One thing about Star Wars is that they almost always release something during ‘Star Wars month’, perfectly extending the May the Fourth celebrations. I’ll admit I didn’t love season three of The Mandalorian, especially with its shift toward a sillier tone, but I’m hopeful this film will bring Din Djarin back to his peak. The trailer looks incredible – particularly the AT-AT sequence in the snow – and Grogu continues to add the perfect touch of humor. I also really love the father-son dynamic between him and Din, which remains the heart of the story.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 (May 1)
Talk about a classic. I grew up loving The Devil Wears Prada and always admired the timeless performances and beauty of actresses like Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep. When the sequel was first announced, I was admittedly skeptical, since the original felt like it had the perfect ending. Still, I’m curious to see what they do with a second film- especially with Stanley Tucci returning and bringing his signature, effortless humor.

Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord (Release Date TBD)
Darth Maul is one of my all-time favorite Sith Lords, and his story is far more complex than the films alone give him credit for. A lot of that depth really shines through in The Clone Wars and the expanded stories beyond the movies. Sam Witwer is one of the best voice actors out there, and I truly can’t imagine anyone else capturing Maul the way he does.

Bridgerton Season 4 (January 29 + February 26)
Leave it to Bridgerton to split the season into two parts and keep me waiting! Anthony’s and Benedict’s books have always been my favorites, and so far Anthony’s season tops the show for me. I loved the dynamic between Benedict and Sophie in his book, and I’m thrilled we finally get to dive into his story on screen. Luke Thompson is phenomenal and brings so much life to the character.
What are your most anticipated projects this year? Is there a book, comic, or story you hope will get adapted into a film or TV show? I’d love to hear what you’re excited about!
